Do you ever find yourself reacting in ways that feel automatic, confusing, or difficult to change? Perhaps you withdraw from others when feeling hurt, become highly self-critical, strive relentlessly for perfection, or find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships despite wanting something different.
This introductory workshop explores the concept of schema modes – the emotional states, coping responses, and internal voices that influence how we think, feel, and behave in everyday life.
Drawing upon Schema Therapy, participants will gain an understanding of how early experiences shape our current ways of coping and learn why some strategies that once protected us can later create difficulties in our relationships, wellbeing, and sense of self.
During this 90-minute workshop, we will explore:
